We are a close knit club of about 50 members that meet the first Tuesday monthly at our own clubhouse ( you just have to see it ) at 1128 Jackson Gate Road in Jackson, California . We start gathering about 5:30pm. We serve sandwiches and soft drinks as well as cook up some steaks for dinner. After the social hour, we bring the meeting to order at 7pm with the usual format of new and old business, coming events and other necessary discussions. The meeting is usually adjourned about 8:30pm.
Our male only organization is easy to get involved with. You have to attend three meetings within 6 months, tell us about yourself, pay a $25.00 yearly membership due, promise to uphold the standards of the club both in your private life as well as club events, get the approval of the club members and you are in. We do require that you have a set of buckskins ( shirt or jacket ) and pants for club sanctioned events. Moccasins and a period correct ( 1800 up to 1860) hat are good to have.
Besides our meetings , we have our annual Days of 49 Wagon train, regular traditional black powder muzzle loader shoots, rendezvous', general club get togethers, an annual fireworks stand, parades, family nite, scholarship presentations, club promotions, trail rides for those with horses and generally a lot of fun. In addition, we have a man cave clubhouse that you just have to see. You can see our Facebook page as well to see more images and frequent post about the club activities and news. See. "Kit Carson Mountain Men of Amador County" . Not to be confused with our Colorado sister club.
